Wanaprasta Pastured Organic Vinegars

Tri Sutrisna

Although apple cider vinegar gets all the press it isn't the most potent mother based vinegar in the world. For instance, apples are hardly renowned for their healing properties. In fact apple cider vinegar, when compared to ginger or turmeric based vinegars hardly registers a health kick. For sheer healing knock out power you really cant beat ginger and turmeric based mother vinegars.

However there are other demands on vinegar beyond simple health gradients. Health knock out power isn't everything, and the quality of a classic vinegar can’t just be about its triglycerides, polyphenols and antioxidants.

Truly beautiful Mother based vinegars have to also appeal to the palete. They have to taste good!

Of course the most powerful organic vinegars in the world are those packed with a natural yeast and a bacterial enzyme slime soup called the 'Mother’.Each major region of the world produces its own identifiable 'Mother' footprint and the potential health effects of using 'Mother' based vinegars from different regions is significant. Such a naturally fermented vinegar significantly encourages gut flora more suitable to Bali’s tropical environment. Add to that a massively higher organic potency than apple cider vinegars, which includes indigenous unfiltered snakefruit polyphenols and a ‘Mother’ rich in local strains of fermented enzymes and supportive bacteria that does so much to boost our immune systems, cholesterol health and weight issues.

A smooth food grade vinegar similar to apple cider, but with more complex fruity overtones higher in amino acids and antioxidants. Wanaprasta Pastured Organic Snakefruit vinegar goes a long way to assist in the fight against heart and kidney disease and with its incredible environmental credentials, puts Wanaprasta's vinegars in a league of their own.

2024 Update

Tri Sutrisna
Notice to customers:
We will be changing the look of our whole chicken in 2024.
In order to highlight the huge quality difference between our pastured organic chicken and factory farm chicken such as “probiotic” chicken we will be offering our chickens with feet attached.
Sustainable farmers are returning to these old traditions of chicken presentation to highlight their quality difference and give the customer the ability to inspect the legs to confirm correct color and shape characteristics for a pastured organic chicken.
Those customers who have been regularly requesting the inclusion of the feet will be pleased by these changes.
Our pastured organic poultry will be more easily identified in future.

PLASTIC

Tri Sutrisna

In 2011 we were one of the very first companies in Bali that reviewed plastic use and reduced its use in every aspect of our operations.

Plastic use was removed in farming, processing and retail. It made our products more expensive but was an important pillar in our environmental commitment.

Ten years on, we had another plastic review and were surprised to discover that there had been a revolution in the way plastic could be used and recycled. These improvements would allow us to better serve the environment and our customers.

Finding a way to further reduce our plastic footprint by 45% has been an exciting development.

To do this we are going to move to recyclable plastic pouches as much as possible. We will take full responsibility for returns of this recycled packaging and plan to offer free products with the return of them. We want to set an example of a company that takes full and direct responsibility for its packaging.

Using recyclable plastic and taking responsibility for it is a core priority for us. From 2023 we will roll into this new system across our whole operation.

We know that there are extremely poor plastic pouch choices out there, particularly those packets with extra film layers. Ironically those plastic packages with brown paper or aluminum films commonly used to imply environmental credentials are some of the worst choices as they currently cannot be recycled.

Our pouches will be simple, recyclable plastic with an environmental footprint significantly lower than our current glass system.

They will be

  • 3.1X LESS plastic used than our current glass jar (plastic lid) system.
  • 100% recyclable. Return them to us washed and dry and we take responsibility.
  • 17.5X LESS environmental damage in manufacturing process.
  • 5.2X LESS greenhouse gas emissions in production.
  • 34X LESS transport environmental footprint.
  • 11.6X LESS storage environmental footprint.
  • 3.6X LESS fossil fuel usage.
  • 96% LESS waste landfill.
For us, the environment always comes first.

    Information for our valued customers:

We have not had any price increases since 2019 and we are proud of this, but the current situation with substantial increases in our production costs has meant we must raise our prices by 12-15% from August 2022.
We do apologise for this and hope you understand and support transparency and integrity in informing you of our situation.
